Abstract

This article examines the role of Theodore Dreiser “The Financier” in world linguistics. It analyzes how Dreiser’s language reflects the economic, social, and moral realities of early 20th-century America. The research focuses on lexical choices, stylistic features, dialogue, and cultural context. It also investigates translations into Uzbek, German, and French, highlighting challenges in preserving meaning, tone, and cultural nuances. The study demonstrates that “The Financier” is not only a literary work but also an important resource for linguistic, translation, and cultural studies. Linguistic analysis of the novel and its translations provides insight into how literature reflects society, communicates ethical questions, and contributes to cross-cultural understanding.
